Wheelchair Curling

Wheelchair Curling is a game of great skill and strategy. Wheelchair Curling had its debut at the Torino 2006 Paralympic Winter Games.
The sport is open to male and female athletes who have a substantial disability caused for instance by spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis and single/double-leg amputation.
To be eligible to play in the World Wheelchair Curling Championship (WWhCC) and qualifying events, a player must have substantial demonstrable impairments in leg/gait function and use a wheelchair for daily mobility, or qualify within the eligibility criteria reference WCF website – Wheelchair Curling – Classification Rules.
Each team must be comprised of male and female players and the sport is practiced today in 24 countries.
Wheelchair Curling is governed by the World Curling Federation (WCF).
