The Russian will be hoping the home snow of Sochi 2014 will provide the X-Factor needed to overcome her Slovakinan rival Henrieta Farkasova who has been so dominat in the visually impaired class in recent years.
At her first Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Frantseva failed to medal but made amends a year later impressing at the 2011 IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships. In Sestriere, Italy she took home three silver and two bronze medals whilst Farkasova claimed four golds.
The signs for a more competitive 2013 are good however if the 2011/2012 season is anything to go by. Frantseva finished the season top of the World Cup standings in both the Giant Slalom and Super Giant Slalom events, ahead of her great rival.
She will be hoping this form tranlates into gold medals at February's 2013 IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships in La Molina, Spain and more importantly for her the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.
