Brazil’s Antonio Tenorio has been a staple in the judo community.
Winning four gold medals in three weight classes, Tenorio has proven himself as the judoka to beat.
A meniscus injury had him worried in the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games, but Tenorio fought through the pain and won a decisive battle.
Chronicled in the documentary B1, Tenorio knows what it’s like to have the world watching. He made history at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games by being the first judoka to win four consecutive gold medals.
Tenorio describes himself as a peaceful man, however he says he is like a volcano erupting when he competes.
Left fully blind from a slingshot accident, and an eye infection a few years later, Tenorio has already received an invitation from the Brazilian Paralympic Committee to compete for Brazil at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games in his home country.
Planning to retire by age 46, Tenorio believes he has one final Paralympic Games in him.
