Korea’s Gwang-Geun Choi is leaving his mark in the judo community.
An ankle surgery had Choi recovering in the hospital prior to travelling to London, but the injury didn’t affect him as he competed in his first Paralympic Games.
Fighting for his sick mother at home in South Korea, Choi defeated the USA’s Myles Porter in a quick 45 seconds to win gold at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
Choi has started the 2013-2014 season strong, winning gold at the USA Judo International Championships.
Choi is a favourite for October’s Asia-Pacific IBSA Judo Championships.
