Although he did not medal in Torino in 2006, he was back to top form at the 2009 IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships at the High 1 Resort, Korea taking Super Combined gold as well as silver in the Downhill and Super- G events.

At the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games Santacana again took one gold and two silvers. This time top spot came in the Downhill, whilst the silvers came in Giant Slalom and Slalom.
