Jorge Hierrezuelo Marcillis

Despite being fairly new to the international judo world, Cuba’s Jorge Hierrezuelo Marcillis has been unstoppable recently.

An intense bout with Great Britain’s hometown favourite Sam Ingram capped off his London 2012 Paralympic Games judo competition.

After a full five minutes, Hierrezuelo Marcillis won by yuko to take gold at the London 2012 Games in his Paralympic debut.

Since winning the title, he has proven he is the one to beat in the men’s -90kg.

An aggressive competitor, Hierrezuelo Marcillis, has begun a rivalry with the Ingram and the USA’s Dartanyon Crockett, beating them both in consecutive tournaments held in Colorado Springs, Colorado in the USA.

In 2013, he is determined to continue his win streak and qualify for the 2014 World Championships.
