Born in 1986 with cerebral palsy, she was introduced to athletics in 2005. At her first Paralaympic Games in Beijing she won two gold medals in shot put (11.58m) and discus (33.67m), where she broke the world record.
At the 2011 IPC Athletics World Championship in New Zealand she took top spot in both events, breaking Championship records along the way.
In London 2012 Na Mi completed the double double, again winning Paralympic titles with world record throws in the shot put (12.20m) and discus (35.35m) to underline her position as the world’s most dominant T37 thrower.
Her sport philosophy is “Pursue your best”.
