Dubai will host the opening Grand Prix of the season

For the second successive year, Dubai will host the season opening Grand Prix with around 450 athletes set to compete between 13-16 March. At the 2017 Dubai Grand Prix athletes smashed seven world records and with warm weather practically guaranteed, more records could fall once again at the Dubai Club for the Disabled track.

Dubai is located southeast of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula and has a population of over two million people. As of 2012, it is the 22nd most expensive city in the world and has been rated as one of the best places to live in the Middle East.

The city hosted the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens and the 2010 FINA World Swimming Championships (Short Course).
