Goyang 2013: Canada preview

What you need to know about Canada prior to the 2013 IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships A-Pool.

Greg Westlake has been a star of Canada's ice sledge hockey team since 2003.

Outlook

The Canadians will try to claw their way back to the top of the podium in Goyang for the first time at an IPC event since 2008. Canada finished in a disappointing third place at last year’s World Championships. After going in with high expectations and going undefeated in pool play, Canada fell to the USA in their semi-final game before beating the Czech Republic for bronze.

That result came two years after a disappointing fourth-place finish for Canada at the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games.

All of Canada’s key pieces from last season are back, and 19-year-old Tyler McGregor will be making his World Championship debut.
