APC Announce Partnership with Allianz

Allianz Australia Official Supporter of the APC 07 Jul 2011 By IPC

"We are delighted to be involved with the Australian Paralympic Committee and to be supporting Australia’s Paralympic athletes to achieve their competitive goals, while motivating and inspiring others."

With little over a year to go before the London 2012 Paralympic Games, the Australian Paralympic Committee (APC) is excited to announce Allianz Australia as an Official Supporter of the APC and Australia’s 2012 Paralympic Team.

In a two year sponsorship deal recently signed with the insurance giant, Allianz Australia has become the latest international Allianz company to lend its support to its National Paralympic Committee, after the global Allianz SE renewed its support of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

APC Chief Executive Jason Hellwig says the support of Allianz Australia is not only important financially but will assist in promoting the Paralympic movement.

“The London 2012 Paralympic Games is going to be spectacular and the Australian Paralympic Committee plans to send the biggest ever team to an overseas Paralympic Games, with the valuable support of our corporate partners including Allianz Australia,” said Hellwig.

“Allianz has a long history of involvement in the global Paralympic movement and the Australian Paralympic Committee is excited to now have Allianz Australia on board supporting our Australian athletes and spreading the Paralympic message.”

Allianz Australia joins a growing number of Allianz companies in Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, Ireland, Portugal, Switzerland and Turkey in providing sponsorship support to its National Paralympic Committees.

Allianz Australia Managing Director Terry Towell said the partnership reinforces Allianz SE’s renewal of its global support of the Paralympic movement.

“As a Gold Patron of the International Paralympic Committee since 2006, Allianz SE has this year become the organisation’s first “International Partner,” said Towell.

“We are delighted to be involved with the Australian Paralympic Committee and to be supporting Australia’s Paralympic athletes to achieve their competitive goals, while motivating and inspiring others.

“For Allianz, this is a significant partnership, bringing the combined forces of Allianz Australia and the Australian Paralympic Committee and the global reach of the Allianz Group to support the international Paralympic movement as we head to the Games in London next year.”

Allianz Australia is the latest well-known company to provide support to the APC, after deals were also signed this year with leading apparel suppliers 2XU, R.M Williams and Scody.
