Brazilian Paralympic stars Andre Brasil, Terezinha Guilhermina and Alan Cardoso Fonteles Oliveira will all be in attendance this weekend at Brazil’s final event in the 2012 Circuit Loterias Caixa.

From Friday to Sunday (30 November – 2 December), more than 900 athletes from Argentina, Brazil and Chile will compete in athletics, powerlifting and swimming at the University of Fortaleza.

Athletes will receive international ranking points for both next year’s IPC Athletics and Swimming World Championships.

Brasil was one of the most successful athletes for Brazil at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, winning three gold and two silvers in the pool.

Guilhermina, a visually impaired sprinter, took first place on the track in both the 100m and 200m T11 events.

Oliveira is also now well-known in Brazil after beating Oscar Pistorius for gold in the 200m T44 sprint at the Games.

"The steps of the Circuit National Housing Lotteries are very important because they serve as a preparation for international competitions and world,” Oliveira told Brazil’s NPC.

“Circuit also provides the emergence and growth of new names. It’s a contest that helped me a lot for the Paralympics.”
