Canada rout Norway in sledge series opener

Billy Bridges netted a hat trick in Canada’s 10-0 victory against Norway in the first of their three-game exhibition series.

The series continues on Friday at 19:00 (EST) before wrapping up Saturday at 12:00 (EST).

Billy Bridges scored three times and added six assists as Canada’s ice sledge hockey team opened their three-game series against Norway with a one-sided 10-0 victory on Thursday (17 January).

The line of Bridges, Marc Dorion and Kevin Rempel combined for 21 points in the victory, as in addition to Bridges’ nine points, Dorion had a hat trick and four assists and Rempel chipped in with two goals and three helpers.

Anthony Gale and Greg Westlake had the other goals for Canada.

Benoit St-Amand picked up the shutout in the Canadian goal, having to make just seven saves, while Norway’s Kjell Christian Hamar took the loss with a 15-save performance.

Dorion’s assist on Rempel’s first-period goal was his 100th career point with Canada’s national team, making him the fifth player to reach that mark.
