1. The Dutchman has competed at four Paralympic Games and won his first World Championship medal - 100m T54 gold - back in 2002.

2. Van Weeghel loves pancakes and dark chocolate – "even better if both together…"

3. Aside from competing and training, van Weeghel admits he is a "big computer nerd" who enjoys keeping up his IT skills.

4. The 35-year-old spent a day enjoying the roller coasters at a fun park. After one go on the merry-go-round he was green. “That was the worst experience I ever had. I thought I had a good stomach after so many roller coasters, then I got sick from a kid’s activity. Never again.”

5. The 200m T54 world and European champion enjoys going off-road and taking the most challenging trail routes with his wheelchair.

The IPC Athletics World Championships will take place in Doha, Qatar, between 21-31 October, attracting 1,300 athletes from 100 countries.
