IBSA Goalball African Championships to begin

The top two nations will qualify for the World Championships. The six teams competing include: Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, South Africa, Kenya, Rwanda and Ghana.

The final IBSA Goalball regional championship event for 2013 is about to commence, and this time it’s Africa’s moment to be in the spotlight.

Seven men’s teams will convene at the Moi International Sports Centre starting on Monday (2 December) in Nairobi, Kenya, for the 2013 IBSA Goalball African Championships to try to win their continental title and qualify for the 2014 IBSA Goalball World Championships.

The top two nations will qualify for the World Championships. The six teams competing include: Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, South Africa, Kenya, Rwanda and Ghana.

Algeria, who were quarter-finalists at the Paralympics and World Championships, are the heavy favourites and have more experience than any other team in major international tournaments.
