Organisers of May’s IBSA World Games in Seoul, South Korea, have launched a new video to promote the event which will be the first time it has been held in Asia.

The event in the Korean capital, between 8-18 May 2015, will feature 10 sports, including athletics and swimming which have both been approved by the International Paralympic Committee.

The other sports are football (B1), football (B2-B3), goalball, judo, powerlifting, showdown, tenpin bowling and chess.

The first IBSA World Games were held in Madrid, Spain, in 1998 and featured 1,400 athletes from 71 countries. In 2011 they were staged in Antalya, Turkey, attracting 1,900 athletes from 61 countries.

Around 3,000 athletes from 80 countries are expected to attend this year.

In early February the draw for the goalball competition was made for the event.

In the men’s competition Pool A features Turkey, Spain, Czech Republic, China, Germany, Egypt, South Korea and Mexico, whilst Pool B includes Lithuania, Iran, Algeria, Canada, Belgium, Japan, Australia and Venezuela.

In Pool X in the women’s event are China, Finland, Israel, Ukraine, Germany, Greece and South Korea. Japan, Canada, Australia, Sweden, Great Britain, Spain and Ghana make up Pool Y.
