International Paralympic Day Celebrated in Mongolia

On the occasion of the International Paralympic Day, the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Mongolia took the opportunity to celebrate Paralympic Sport and its growth over the years.
“We are proud of our athletes, and we hope, and I am sure that our team will make it to the London 2012 Paralympic Games and bring back more than one gold medal,” Mr. Nyamkhuu said.
Taking place on 10 July, one day before the International Paralympic Day 2009 in Berlin, Germany, NPC Mongolia held a general meeting with its members, and celebrated with the media. The meeting was presented by the local media, including MNB, TV 5, TV 9 and other local newspapers.
Mongolian athletes who competed at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games were also in attendance, giving interviews and meeting with the public. Baatarjav Dambadondog, who took the gold medal in Archery at the Beijing Games, was on hand and celebrated with other athletes and members of the Committee.
President of NPC Mongolia Davaa Nyamkhuu extended the welcome to the media and the athletes, and said the country’s team showed a great performance. “We are proud of our athletes, and we hope, and I am sure that our team will make it to the London 2012 Paralympic Games and bring back more than one gold medal,” Mr. Nyamkhuu said. “It is more important to show us your inspiration, your courage and your power.”
Mr. Nyamkhuu also said that NPC Mongolia will be working hard to develop Paralympic Sport in the entire nation. The meeting and celebration for the Paralympic Day in Mongolia was supported by NPC Mongolia and the State Committee of Physical Culture and Sports of Mongolia.
