Mexico and South Africa Battle for Final Wheelchair Basketball Spot

The two squads will compete in a three-game series with cumulative scoring.

With just six months to go until the Paralympic Games, the final spot for the London 2012 women’s Wheelchair Basketball pool will be determined this week when Mexico hosts South Africa in a three-game series, beginning on Thursday (1 March) in Guadalajara.

The two squads will compete in a series with cumulative scoring, with the schedule as follows (all times CST):

Game 1: 17:00 1 March

Game 2: 17:00 2 March

Game 3: 17:00 3 March

The other women’s teams that have already qualified for London 2012 include: Germany, the Netherlands, Great Britain, France, Australia, China, USA, Canada and Brazil.

The squads have already been split into two groups for the competition. Group A includes: Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Brazil and Great Britain. Group B includes: China, USA, Germany, France, Mexico-South Africa winner.
