David Isaac Lopez Sevilla is the new President of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Nicaragua

David Isaac Lopez Sevilla is the new President of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Nicaragua following elections which were held in January.

Sevilla succeeds the previous President Juan Francisco Balladares Petting who now takes the position of Treasurer.

Following the elections, Tomas Ramon Hernandez was appointed Vice-President, whilst Dionicio De Jesus Zeledon Ayala remains Secretary General. Other board members who will serve a four year term through to 2019 include Jairo Leyton, Yader Guillen and Reyna Cruz Hernandez.

The NPC made its Paralympic debut at the Athens 2004 Games. At London 2012 it sent a team of two athletes.

The country is expected to be one of 28 that competes in August’s Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games in Canada, having sent four athletes to the 2011 Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.
