“I am certain that the Olympic and Paralympic medals produced by the most experienced craftsmen at ADAMAS will not only be a symbol of victory, but a real decoration for the 2014 Games in Sochi.”

The medals for the Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games will be produced by the Russian jewellery company ADAMAS, the Sochi 2014 Organising Committee announced on Wednesday (13 March).

The deal was signed by Sochi 2014 President Dmitry Chernyshenko and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ADAMAS, Andrei Sidorenko. Under the agreement, the company's jewellers will manufacture and supply around 1,300 official Olympic and Paralympic gold, silver and bronze medals. This will be the record number of medals produced for a Winter Games, due to the highest ever number of sport events included in the Sochi 2014 Games programme.

The design of the medals for both the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games will be unveiled in May.

“I am certain that the Olympic and Paralympic medals produced by the most experienced craftsmen at ADAMAS will not only be a symbol of victory, but a real decoration for the 2014 Games in Sochi,” Chernyshenko said.
