Fresh from winning the men’s up to 59kg at the World Para Powerlifting World Cup in Eger, Hungary, Brazilian powerlifter Bruno Carra shared some revealing facts about himself.

The 28-year-old, who finished fourth at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, is hoping to reach the podium at the World Para Powerlifting Championships set to take place in Mexico City later this year.

Here are the three things you did not know about Bruno Carra.

1. “I am a computer engineer.”

2. “When I started competing, I used to work eight hours per day, then go to University to study for four hours and then train. I was working in one city, studying in another and training in a third one. I only work and train now.”

3. “My wife does not have short stature as I. Yes, she is taller than I.”

The World Para Powerlifting Championships will take place in Mexico City from 30 September-6 October, with more than 360 powerlifters from 65 countries competing in the Juan de la Barrera Olympic Gymnasium.
