Spain will be the dark horse in the competition after failing to qualify for the Beijing 2008 Games but finishing in the top five at last year’s World Championships.

The three men’s Wheelchair Basketball teams heading to the Paralympics in August will get the chance to face each other at the Standard Life Continental Clash in Worcester, Great Britain, a three-day tournament that begins on Sunday (10 June).

Canada and Spain will head to the arena at the University of Worcester to battle host nation Great Britain – the 2008 Paralympic Games bronze medallists and 2011 European champions.

The British team is coming off a second-place finish at the BT Paralympic World Cup in Manchester, where it was led by Ian Sagar and Jon Pollock.

The Canadians boast the world’s top player in Pat Anderson and is hoping to build up its confidence to reclaim gold at London 2012. Canada had to settle for silver at Beijing 2008 after winning gold at both the Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 Games.
