The election for the 2013-2015 term saw three new faces filling up the five Vice President posts.

IPC Governing Board Member Dato Zainal Abu Zarin was re-elected as President of the Paralympic Council of Malaysia (PCM) on Monday (17 June), while incumbent Kassim Abd. Rahman lost his position as Secretary General.

The election for the 2013-2015 term saw three new faces filling up the five Vice President posts.

Filling up the number two post in PCM is Anuar Suun of the Malaysia Para Carrom Association, who won uncontested for the Deputy President’s post.

The new Vice Presidents selected into the 2013-2015 lineup were Datuk Zakaria Musa (Wheelchair Tennis Association of Malaysia), Datuk Mah Hassan (Malaysian Disabled Chess Association) and Hafidzah Abdul Khafidz of the Malaysian Tenpin Para Bowling Association.

John Ng (Table Tennis) and Ang Kean Koo (Malaysia Wheelchair Basketball Association) retained their posts as Vice Presidents for the coming term.

Earlier, Datuk Zainal said PCM faces greater challenges in the coming term with organisation the Asian Youth Para Games in October and ensuring athletes readiness for the Games. Next year’s Asian Para Games in Incheon will also be top on PCM’s agenda, as well as improving on the one silver and one bronze achievement in London Paralympics last year.
