Aim The project uses sport as a tool to spread awareness about HIV/Aids and healthy behaviours to persons with a disability, with an emphasis on girls and women, in less developed countries.
Primary Objectives
  • Transfer knowledge and understanding about HIV(Aids and healthy behaviours) to persons with a disability in less developed countries through sport
  • Create sustainable community-based networks to support persons with a disability in their endeavour to become active participants in society, pursue personal goals and seek opportunities for advancement in sport.

The Healthy Paralympians project was implemented in East Africa in co-operation with the Ugandan National Paralympic Committee, the National Paralympic Committee of Rwanda and the Tanzania Paralympic Committee, all officially recognized National Paralympic Committees. This project was supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Co-operation .
