Rehabilitation Through Sport in the Tsunami Areas (ReSTA, 2005-2006)
As a result of the Tsunami that hit Southeast
Asia in December 2004, and to address the needs specific to persons with a
disability, the International Paralympic Committee has been working with the
National Paralympic Committee of Sri Lanka to provide hope and improve the
standard of living for persons with a disability in Sri Lanka affected by the
Tsunami through sport and increase awareness and understanding about sport for
persons with a disability.
