Goals
Goals
Mid-term Targets
We will continue to improve the services provided by the IPC Documentation
Centre by complying with international standards. For instance, we plan to
enhance the quality, size and accessibility of our fledgling IPC Library within
the possibilities of our limited financial resources. The database will be
further populated with the goal to eventually go online, thus enabling users
worldwide to make database queries via the World Wide Web.
Currently, we
are also working on a re-design of the exhibition of Paralympic memorabilia in
the entrance area of IPC Headquarters. The aim is to illustrate the development
of the IPC and the Paralympic Movement.
We will also enhance existing
contacts and endeavour to establish co-operations with universities, sports
documentation and information centres and museums all over the world.
Long-term Goal
The Paralympic Heritage Centre and Museum
In the long run the IPC
aspires to establish a unique structure to house Paralympic records and
publications and to exhibit Paralympic memorabilia. The building could be a
multi-service facility with an exhibition area, a library and archives as well
as rentable meeting facilities and offices. It would be open to the public and
serve both entertainment, educational and research purposes.
