VISTA 2006 Conference
The VISTA Conference is a biennial conference designed to promote and advance
the mission, goals, objectives and reputation of the International Paralympic
Committee (IPC) and provides a platform for sport scientists to meet with
experts in the field of sport for athletes with a disability.
The first VISTA Conference took
place in Jasper, Canada in 1993. The success of this conference led to two
further conferences in Köln, Germany (1999) and Bollnäs, Sweden (2003). An
identified need for greater opportunities to discuss and exchange knowledge has
seen the VISTA Conference become a biennial event.
The fourth VISTA Conference was held in Bonn,
Germany, home of the IPC Headquarters, from 6 to 7 May 2006.
