IPC Transfers Knowledge to BOCOG

Today, the workshop on Paralympic Games kicked off between the Beijing 2008 Organizing Committee (BOCOG) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

For two days (6 to 7 June), the IPC will be transferring knowledge on the organization of Paralympic Games covering many crucial areas such as Paralympic Planning and Management and needs of Paralympic Clients.

Tomorrow, the workshop will continue with core programmes, e.g. Sports, accessibility, venues, Games Services, image, communication and media.

The around 150 workshop participants were welcomed by BOCOG Executive Vice-President Wang Wei: “The government and BOCOG leadership attach equal importance to Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Paralympics have different requirements from the Olympic Games, we should understand the specific requirements…. to ensure a smooth transition.”

The Paralympic Workshop is part of the Olympic Games Knowledge Services (OGKS) Workshop Programme.
