History of the Paralympic Winter Games Book

In co-operation with Richard Lellouche, the IPC has recently published a comprehensive book on the history of Paralympic Winter sport, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Paralympic Winter Games, spanning from Örnsköldsvik 1976 to Torino 2006.

This beautiful 143-page book was co-authored by Britta Jahnke and Klaus Schüle with assistance from a number of experts within the Paralympic Movement. Topics covered include the history of the Paralympic Winter Games, including the Organization and symbols, the evolution of the Games, a comprehensive explanation of the classification system used in winter sport, the fight against doping, the advances made in sporting equipment and the outlook looking forward towards the 2010 and 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.

The book also features a collection of historical images and photos, including many donated by official IPC Photographer, Lieven Coudenys.

Donations of over EURO 30 will receive a copy of the book. To make a donation, please complete the form below and e-mail to info@paralympic.org or fax to +49-228-2097-209.
