Media Accreditation Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games

For the third time in the history of the Paralympic Games, the media accreditation process for the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games will be managed similarly to that of the Olympic Games. This means that the main contact for media accreditation will be the National Paralympic Committees (NPCs), who will have a broader scope of responsibility in facilitating the accreditation process for national media agencies and individuals. The aim of this increased involvement by NPCs is to enhance the media coverage of the Paralympics, which is more limited in a rather centralized system. The IPC expects around 3,500 media representatives to be accredited for the Paralympic Games in Beijing.

This accreditation procedure will apply to written and photographic press, non-rightsholding radio and television broadcasting companies and Internet journalists (PRS). The Beijing 2008 Organizing Committee (BOCOG) and the host broadcaster will manage the accreditation process for broadcast rightsholders. For any further information, please contact Mark Parkman at markparkman@isbtv.com .

Media interested in coming to the Paralympic Games in 2008, should contact the NPC of their country for further accreditation information. Please click here for all NPCs contact details.

The IPC and BOCOG will support and monitor the accreditation process. For further information please contact BOCOG Media Operations Department, Ms. Tian Tonggui (pressacr@beijing2008.cn) or the IPC, Ms. Steffi Klein (steffi.klein@paralympic.org)
