Following a sporting accident at the age of 18, Vincent Boury has risen to
the top of his sport and at age 35 has been carefully guarding his number one
ranking for several years now. Despite the domination in his category that he
perceives from the Asian nations, Boury is determined to beat his bronze medal
from the Atlanta Paralympic Games in 1996 and the silver he won in Sydney in
2000. At the ATHENS 2004 Paralympic Games he will be competing in both the
individual event and as captain of the French team. Boury has a strong
involvement with the International Paralympic Table Tennis Committee as the
Athletes Representative on the Executive Board. On his road to ATHNES 2004,
Boury feels he has now reached the level, physically, mentally, and technically,
to achieve at the highest level.
