What do you do with eight gold, five silver and two bronze Paralympic medals, in three different sports and a number of world records to your credit? Go back for more! That is what 49 year-old Isabel Newstead of Great Britain will be doing at the ATHENS 2004 Paralympic Games. Competing this time in the 10m Air Pistol event, this will be Newstead’s seventh consecutive Paralympic Games. Newstead began her Paralympic career at the 1980 Arnhem Games, with two gold and a silver medal in Swimming. She then added three gold medals in Swimming and three silver medals in Athletics (discus, shot and javelin) at the 1984 Paralympic Games at Stoke Mandeville, then a Gold, silver and bronze medals in Athletics and her first shooting medal, a bronze, at the 1988 Seoul Paralympic Games. After a medal drought at both the Barcelona and Atlanta Paralympic Games, she came back to not only take the gold in Sydney but to do so with a world record performance. What will she do next?
