Sylvia Grant will be one of the oldest and most experienced delegates in the
Jamaican team to the ATHENS 2004 Paralympic Games. After beginning her sporting
career in 1988, Grant has become a top competitor in a number of Athletics field
disciplines. At the Seoul Paralympic Games in 1988, she won silver in the
discus, javelin and pentathlon events. At Barcelona in 1992, she won silver in
the discus and at Atlanta in 1996, bronze in the javelin. Due to changes in the
classification system for the Sydney Paralympic Games in 2000 she was not a
medal winner but is hoping to change that, aiming for gold in the javelin and
discus at the ATHENS 2004 Paralympic Games.
