Football in general has a long and popular history worldwide.  Football 7-a-Side first appeared as a sport at the CP-ISRA International Games in 1978, in Edinburgh. Since then, Football 7-a-Side has spread to many countries and in 1984 it was incorporated into the official competition programme of the Paralympic Games.
