Call for Paper 2009
The 21st IAKS Congress for the Design, Construction, Modernization and Management of Sports and Leisure Facilities is taking place in Cologne from 28th to 30th October 2009. The IAKS Congress and the International Trade Fair for Amenity Areas, Sports and Pool Facilities (FSB) are expected to attract over 15,000 experts from all over the world.The IAKS Congress will be concerned with the latest experience, technologies, trends and prospects in sports and leisure infrastructure.
We’d like to invite you to get actively involved in the Congress Programme by putting forward your suggestions. Please feel free to inform any other interested person about this activity. (more)

The bathing ship in Berlin is an excellent illustration of how a very special open-air pool complex situated in an unusual place for a pool, but in a scenario that is nevertheless familiar in many towns, can provide an urban population with enjoyment and – equally important – with facilities to improve their health too. It has transformed a previously anonymous part of the riverbank into an attractive meeting place for city society.
So that the public can continue to enjoy bathing here even into the winter months the designers opted for a felicitous, impressively designed mobile roof construction. Unfortunately there is no wheelchair access, otherwise an even better rating would have been possible.
