CP-ISRA Is Moving Forward - 2000 and Beyond
The CP-ISRA's Annual Meeting in Ottawa, Canada in September 1999 reconfirmed the
intention of the Federation to move forward. A new Executive Committee, set in place just
one year ago, is committed to three clear objectives as they move the international
federation into the new millennium.
A significant feature of the CP-ISRA mandate is the work on three main fronts:
- The need for improved communication for all its members. A new publicity campaign has
begun with fresh approaches and publications. Into this arena, is the new and updated
CP-ISRA website (http://www.cpisra.org/).
- A second area of concern and necessary work is in the recruitment of interested and
willing volunteers to assist in the work of the sports of the federation. There is an
urgent need for sports technicians across all CP-ISRA sports for potential classifiers and
also for general workers to assist in the administration.
- A third defined work is in the sports development of the federation. There are so many
requests that come into CP-ISRA from a variety of national organizations and clubs. The
volume exceeds the possible output by far. There are just not enough workers to do the
work. It is for this reason that CP-ISRA is mounting a campaign for more helpers to assist
in the CP-ISRA work. The motto is: "There is an opportunity for all"
and CP-ISRA is pledged to assist all those who wish to participate in sports to fulfill
the dream.
