6th Paralympic Congress: Call for Papers
Just before the action begins, researchers and field experts will gather to discuss the finer points of sport and science. The 6th Paralympic Congress, “Sport and Human Performance: Beyond Disability”, will be held shortly before the start of the VIII Paralympic Winter Games from 3 to 6 March 2002 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Congress will explore in depth how sport and exercise enhance the health and performance of people with disabilities. Attendance is open to all members of the sport science community, rehabilitation therapists, educators in adapted physical activity, physicians, sport psychologists, students and advocates for people with disabilities.
The organizers are seeking individuals to present relevant research at the Congress. Special consideration will be given to papers that deal with the following topics:
- Exercise physiology and biomechanics
- Sport and exercise psychology
- Sports medicine
- Pedagogy and coaching
- Advocacy, legislation, ethics and social-cultural issues
- Technology and equipment adaptations.
The deadline for submission of abstracts is 1 October 2001.
