"Up and Over" by David McIntyre
"Body, Mind and Spirit" by Mathilde Dusol
"Boccia" by Soon Hyung Kwon
A photo of a high jump athlete from China has won the first prize in the IPC Photo Contest, which was held around the Paralympic Games Sydney 2000. The winning shot, “Up and Over”, was taken by David McIntyre, a photographer based in Hong Kong. McIntyre wins a three-day stay sponsored by international hotel group Accor.

Mathilde Dusol, a dental hygienist and freelance photographer from the Netherlands, won the second prize. Her entry, “Body, Mind and Spirit”, is an ingenious shot of a wheelchair tennis player on a court with the Paralympic logo in the background. The second prize is a kickboard sponsored by K2 worth about US$300.The third place went to Soon Hyung Kwon, a publisher and editor in Australia, for his entry, “Boccia”. Kwon receives a US$100 Amazon.com gift certificate.

The judging panel comprised: Lieven Coudenys, IPC Official Photographer; Françoise Zweifel, Director of the Olympic Museum; Dr. Nabil Salem, IPC Vice-President (Marketing and Communication); and Andy Scott, Member of the IPC Marketing Task Force and CEO of the National Paralympic Committee of South Africa. The IPC warmly thanks the judging panel for their assistance and all contest entrants for their participation.
