Three New Faces at IPC Headquarters
It has been a long and difficult road towards starting off the Marketing Department at the IPC. But the IPC has finally found the right person for the position of Marketing Manager: Andreas Schönemann, a native German from the Bonn area, will manage the IPC’s marketing activities from January 2002 on. He has a difficult task ahead of him, but he is well prepared.

Andreas Schönemann |
Andreas has a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, and also spent one year
at the University of Massachusetts in the United States. He began his professional career as a Marketing and Strategy consultant in Bonn, followed by positions in Business Development and Key Account Management focusing on the European Software-Market.
“At the IPC I get the unique chance to combine my personal interests with my professional skills and experiences. I am looking forward to addressing this challenge!”
Instead of completing the military service (in Germany compulsory for men), Andreas served the community. He assisted a disabled law student in his daily chores and also worked in a kindergarten for children with a disability.
Andreas enjoys sports, travelling and meeting with friends. His latest pastime, which cropped up nine months ago keeps him very busy and gives him and his wife Silke much joy: Their baby-boy Niklas.
Sabine Mikulas joined the IPC in September 2001. She is currently learning the ropes at the NPC Services Desk, which she will take over from Siân Ölschläger. Siân is expecting a baby and will go on maternity leave in December.
Sabine used to be the regional director of admissions in the German office of “Up With People”, which was closed this year when the operations of the organization were suspended. She, therefore, has a great deal of experience in working in an volunteer driven international setting.

Sabine Mikulas |
Her motivation for working with the IPC stems from this experience. She enjoys the work at the NPC Services Desk because it exposes her to a large number of people from different countries and cultural backgrounds.
Travelling is a top priority for Sabine who prefers backpacking to package touring. One of her next trips will take her to South America. In preparation, she is attending Spanish classes so that she will be able to chat to the locals. Another hobby of hers is reading, which blends in nicely with her enthusiasm for travelling.
Berlinda Nadarajan left the IPC this August to follow her husband to the Netherlands. She has been replaced by a new Communication Manager, Martina Reuter. Like Berlinda before her, Martina will assist Dr. Susanne Reiff in the Media and Communication Department, particularly with regard to the Newsletter and keeping the website up to date. She is further responsible for dealing with public queries and footages requests.

Martina Reuter |
A German national, Martina graduated with Honours in Political Science from Dundee University, Scotland in 1999. Since then she has spent a year at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa reading Political Science at master’s level. Earlier this year Martina received the Robert Schuman scholarship and completed an internship in the Press Office of the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium.
Martina speaks English, Dutch, Afrikaans and has just started learning Portuguese. In her spare time she likes to swim, practice Taekwon-Do and catch up with her friends from overseas over the phone or via e-mail.
