There is just one month to go until the 2010 International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Wheelchair Dance Sport World Championships in Hannover, Germany featuring 160 athletes from 22 countries.

Taking place on 6 and 7 November 2010, the majority of previous World and European Champions are expected in Hannover for what will be the biggest event ever in the history of Wheelchair Dance Sport.

Public interest in the sport is at an all-time high and, with a high level of competition expected next month, the event is a sell-out with the last remaining tickets sold back in July.

Athena Charitaki, IPC Wheelchair Dance Sport Manager said: “This is the biggest event ever to be staged in Wheelchair Dance Sport and credit must be given to the organizing committee and the sport technical experts for all their hard work.

“The sport has really grown in recent years, highlighted by the fact we have a number of new countries taking part this year, and it will be fantastic for the dancers to perform in front of a sell-out capacity crowd.”

The day after the World Championships, the Wheelchair Dance Sport community gathers for the Sport Forum. The forum will be an opportunity for all those involved in the sport to provide feedback and expert information on its future.
