British Cyclists Top in Europe
The 2005 IPC Open European Cycling Championships finished this weekend in Alkmaar, the Netherlands. Following eight days of competition, Great Britain emerged as the leading country in European Cycling for athletes with a disability. The British team won 17 medals, ten of which were gold. Australia, Germany and Spain followed with good results and confirmed their status as the top Cycling countries in the world.

to 20 August, more than 320 athletes from 33 countries participated in road and
track events. Athletes and officials were particularly pleased with the
organization which was made possible by around 100 volunteers and the volunteer
members of the Organizing Committee.
