London 2012 Orientation Seminar
A delegation of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), led by IOC Co-ordination Commission Chairperson Denis Oswald, including International Paralympic Committee (IPC) CEO Xavier Gonzalez, are taking part in a two-day Orientation Seminar hosted by the London 2012 Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
During the meetings, Mr. Gonzalez and London 2012 Paralympic Games Project Manager Tony Sainsbury, as well as representatives from IOC, London 2012, the British Olympic and Paralympic Associations and a number of other groups will give presentations on Games preparations and the best ways of working in close collaboration.
Mr. Gonzalez said: “The London 2012 Games will minimize the planning and operational differences between these two multi-sport events and lead to new commercial opportunities for the Paralympic Games. This is a great environment which will help to get the best results for the Paralympic Games.”
This Seminar is an important part of the Olympic Games Knowledge Management Programme (OGKM) in which the IPC actively participates. It is the first time that such a seminar has been held for a Summer Games Organizing Committee.
