2011 IPC Athletics World Championships Qualification
IPC Athletics wish to advise the intended timeline of 27 June for the World Championships Qualification document has been revised. The IPC Athletics team plan to circulate in two (2) stages as follows and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
- Qualification Methodology (incl. qualification period) not later than 31 July 2009
- Medal Events and MQS not later than 31 August 2009
Athletes with an Intellectual Disability Licensing
NPC's can now license athletes with an intellectual disability in the Sport Database Management System (SDMS). This only applies for athletes seeking entry into the two approved competitions as outlined in the paper circulated to the IPC membership in April 2009 (I.e. Tokyo 2009 Youth Asian Para Games: 2009 IPC Swimming European Champs).
Athletes duly registered through their NPC and subject to the approved INAS paperwork should be
allocated a T/F20 sport class.

respective competitions above.
2009 IAAF Approved Marathons and Track Certificates
IPC Athletics recognises the IAAF Approved Marathons from the calendar and Track certificates from the list below. Should an athlete compete in a marathon listed or an NPC / IOSD apply for a permit competition the list of track certificates can be refered as offcial verification.
Please note: all records in the marathon are subject to Rule 260 and doping control.
IPC Athletics Classification System Update
Following is the research report stage one (1) completed by Dr. Sean Tweedy prepared after extensive consultation with the different stakeholders. The research report will form the basis of future IPC Athletics Classification rules and will now move to the IPC Governing Board for approval. Also timelines for implementation will be discussed. IPC will inform the membership on the decisions taken by the IPC Governing Board and in the interim confirm the current Classification Rules of the sport can be found on the Classification page of the webiste, Athletics section.

2009 Points Tables
Following a meeting of the Sport Technical Committee (STC) it was decided the points tables to be used in competition will be those from 2008. Immediately after the IPC Athletics Summit a working group was created to specifically look at the principles and tables going forward. The working group is well underway with the project and will update the IPC Membership as soon as possible.
International Classifcation Oportunities in 2009 - Tunisia and Great Britain
IPC Athletics will have two (2) international classification panels at the following competitions and invite athletes to enter for the purposes of classifcation and competiton.

IPC Athletics European Championships in 2010
IPC Athletics invite NPC's from the European region to consider the opportunity
of hosting the IPC Athletics European Championships in 2010.
IPC Athletics look forward to working with NPC’s and bid cities to ultimately deliver a great
competition in the region.
Please see below the a 'Host Expression of Interest Form' and ‘Fact Sheet’ which
provides an overview of the Championships and should be used as a reference document when
considering the opportunity. If after reading the fact sheet a NPC is interested in
hosting the Championships, please send immediately an email to
ipcathletics@paralympic.org and follow up by
completing the attached ‘Host Expression of Interest Application’ form.
Expressions of Interest should be received by IPC Athletics not later than Friday 29 May

IPC Athletics Techncial Officials Course
IPC Athletics in partnership with NPC Tunisia invite individuals to consider the training and development opportunity as well as submitting an Expression of Interest to attend a technical officials course to be held in Tunis. Please see the invitation and expression of interest form below. Please note: Expressions of Interest must be received not later than 2 May 2009.
IPC Athletics Results Sheet - Results from IPC Athletics Approved Competitions, for Review and Inclusion in the IPC Athletics Ranking Lists
The official results sheet has been modified in stages to align with the SDMS. The results sheet below is an intermediary stage toward a solution which the IPC expect will be compatible with the SDMS including a coded format. Updated versions of the results sheet template will be posted in the Downloads and Forms section of the website from time to time.

Please note: Results from IPC Athletics aproved competitions must be sent to IPC Athletics within two (2) weeks of the competition in the approved format. IPC Athletics also request a set of the original results in pdf or excel format.
New IPC Registered Testing Pool (RTP)
At the occasion of the implementation of the new IPC Anti-Doping Code and the World Anti-Doping Code (WADC) International Standard for Testing (IST) by 1 January 2009, the IPC revised its Registered Testing Pool (RTP). Please follow the link below for detailed information and specifically athletes in Athletics. The new IPC RTP is effective from the second quarter of 2009 (from 1 April 2009) onwards.

IPC Anti-Doping Code 2009
As a WADA stakeholder, the IPC Anti-Doping Code has been updated, effective 1 January 2009. Please follow the link below for more details.
Official Communication
From 1 January 2009 IPC Athletics will be adhering to the Official IPC Communication
Protocol whereby all communication must originate from or be copied to the primary
IPC member contact person. The respective contact persons can be found on the main section of
the IPC website -> Contacts.
Should IPC Athletics receive requests other than from a primary IPC member contact
person, follow up correspondence may be required. IPC Athletics apologizes in advance if
the subsequent follow up may cause undue delays.

IPC Athletics Data Management System and Athlete Licensing Programme
The IPC will launch a web based database application in January 2009 that was developed in partnership with Atos Origin. The application is called the IPC Sport Data Management System (SDMS).
The general functionality of the online application includes the following:
• Captures athlete biographies, eligibility data (nationality, classification, etc.),
results, potential records;
• Provides NPCs with online reports and data for their respective athletes;
• Calculates world and regional rankings, records and other reports (eg classification master
lists) and
• Automates the athlete registration and license payment and invoicing processes online.
The Athlete Registration and Licensing Programme will be activated from January 2009. There are timelines identfed for registration and please note athletes that have not been registered by 13 March 2009 may not be included on the first quarter publication of the IPC Athletics World and Regional ranking lists.
Important note: only licensed athletes will be eligible to have their results submitted for consideration on the IPC Athletics world and regional ranking lists as well as for world and regional record applications.
