About the Event

The Dutch town of Stadskanaal, will host the 2012 IPC Athletics European Championships between 24-27 June.

The event will be the last major international gathering of athletes before the London 2012 Paralympic Games and around 500 athletes from 40 countries are expected to take part.

Many athletes competing in Staadskanaal will be looking to meet qualifying times for London 2012 whilst some of the top names will be using the event to judge their form ahead of the Paralympic Games.

Entry to the event is free of charge to all members of the public.

Stadskanaal is a small town of just over 30,000 people located in the north east of the Netherlands not far from the German border.

The nearest major airports are located at Amsterdam Schiphol and Dusseldorf – both of which are 220km away.
