David Cameron wishes International Parlaympic Committee happy 25th anniversary

The British Prime Minister, David Cameron, said:

"Congratulations to the International Paralympic Committee on your 25th anniversary.

Here in Britain, we look upon the Paralympic movement with great affection and pride.

The movement was born here, at the Stoke Mandeville Games in 1948.

And then in 2012, the Paralympics came home.

London 2012 was the greatest Paralympic Games in history…

…it didn’t only transform attitudes towards disabled sport, but towards disability itself.

The Paralympians showed the world not what disabled people can’t do, but all the incredible, superhuman things they can do.

We owe the IPC a great deal for that – and we are grateful for all the work you’ve done over the last quarter century.

So congratulations once again – and good luck with the preparations for Rio 2016."
