Can you imagine skiing and shooting without sight? Take a look at Mikhalina Lysova, a Paralympic athlete who competes in para-biathlon in the visual impairment category. Since making her international debut in 2007, Mikhalina Lysova has emerged as one of the elite Nordic skiers in the world; and she is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Lysova rose to prominence at the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games, her first Paralympics, when she captured five medals, one gold, two silver and two bronze. Since then, Lysova has made her mark at the IPC Nordic Skiing World Championships. In the past two IPC Nordic Skiing World Championships, she has captured 13 World Championship medals, nine of them gold. Working with her guide Alexey Ivanov, Lysova will be looking to further cement her place in Paralympic history come March.
