When and where did you begin this sport?
He began the sport in 2009 while on holiday in Canada.
Why this sport?
He was into mountain biking before his accident, and after his rehabilitation he wanted to get back into sports. "I was depressed and that made me return to sport. I tried many sports until I found skiing. It helped me return to the mountains and be surrounded by nature again."
Name of coach
Marcel Kuonen [advisor], SUI, from 2016
Training Regime
In the winter months he trains in Park City, UT, United States of America. In the summer months he mostly does handcycling and gym training in Mexico City, Mexico. For the 2017/18 season he was based in Europe.

Superstitions / Rituals / Beliefs
He always takes a moment to think about his mother, his sister and also his late father and grandmother before every competition. "I remember her laughing and him dancing. It makes me smile and relaxes me." (, 2014;, 29 Nov 2017)

"People's strongest power is their will power." (, 09 Jun 2017)

Other information
Mexico does not have an official Para alpine skiing team, which means he is responsible for organising everything for himself outside of training and competition. "I'm my own team manager. I'm my own administrative assistant, also my own marketing person, my own everything. That's the most challenging part." (, 09 Mar 2018)

He has built his own skiing equipment in the past, using carbon fibre. "I decided to build my own equipment because it is an expensive sport. I invest in material and spend many hours building it. I am very proud of it." (, 2014)
