When and where did you begin this sport?
He began skiing in 2009 while he was on holiday in Canada.
Why this sport?
He was into mountain biking before his accident, and after his rehabilitation he wanted to get back into sports. "I was depressed and that made me return to sport. I tried a lot of sports before I found skiing. It helped me return to the mountains and be surrounded by nature again."

General Interest

Awards and honours
He was flag bearer for Mexico at both the opening ceremony and the closing ceremony of the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang. He also carried out the same duty for the opening ceremony at the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi. (, 18 Mar 2018, 07 Mar 2014;, 09 Mar 2018)

Other information
Mexico does not have an official Para alpine skiing team, which means he is responsible for organising everything for himself outside of training and competition. "I'm my own team manager. I'm my own administrative assistant, also my own marketing person, my own everything. That's the most challenging part." (, 09 Mar 2018)

He has built his own skiing equipment in the past, using carbon fibre. "I decided to build my own equipment because it is an expensive sport. I invest in material and spend many hours building it. I am very proud of it." (, 2014)
