She began para-skiing in 2000 in Akureyri, Iceland.
Why this sport?
A group of skiers from Aspen, CO, in the United States came to Iceland and held a learn-to-ski camp for people with impairments, which she attended. "I had always wanted to learn to ski and had a lot of interest in winter sports."
