The 2016 IPC Athletics Grand Prix will take place in Grosseto, Italy, from 8-10 April at the Carlo Zecchini Olympic Stadium. In recent years, this competition venue has hosted the several IPC Grand Prix, several national athletics championships and two major athletics events: the IAAF World Junior Championships in 2004 and the European Junior Championships in 2001.

In 2016, the venue will stage the IPC Athletics European Championships, one of the last major para-athletics events before the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

The Italian Federation of Paralympic and Experimental Sports (the FISPES) will act as Local Organising Committee. Grosseto has once again been selected as host of the Italian leg of the IPC Grand Prix for its renowned hospitality capacity and its excellent sporting facility which has two IAAF certified tracks.

Grosseto is a city located in famous Tuscany at the heart of Maremma, a coastal area extending along the region. The city centre is situated 12km away from the seaside.

The Fattoria La Principina hotel, one of Maremma’s best resorts, has been designated by the Local Organising Committee as the main event’s accommodation and headquarters, offering all athletes, teams and officials the most suitable hospitality.
