Berck-Sur-Mer 2018 features as a mandatory step on the qualification pathway for all European Para powerlifters striving to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Berck-sur-Mer is a seaside resort and the most populated residential city in the Montreuil-sur-Mer district, located south of the Opal Coast, just two hours from many European capitals.

Berck is a cultural city, at the beginning of the last century, Berck was the largest port in France

Before then it was a typical fisherman’s village which attracted and inspired more than 75 painters, including Manet.

The family resort benefits from 12 km of fine sand stretching to the mouth of the river Canche. It is a paradise for families, children, hikers and sportsmen who come to enjoy some of the best air in the Pas-de-Calais. The sailboats, kitesurfs, kites and beautiful multicolored cabins are the perfect backdrop for walks along the Esplanade.

The city also hosts the International Meetings of Kite every year, a unique event in the world.
